The KGW crystal has two large Raman modes related to the pump polarization, which are located at 768cm.& sup1; and 901cm .& sup1;. This means that when the pump light is irradiated on the KGW crystal, the frequency shift of the Stokes light and the anti-Stokes light will be generated, and the frequency shift amount corresponds to the frequency of the two Raman modes. This feature enables the KGW crystal to convert the frequency of the pump light to a specific Raman shift frequency, thereby achieving Laser frequency conversion and expansion. The relatively wide Raman linewidth means that the crystal can cover a certain range of frequencies during the Raman conversion process, which is beneficial to achieve broadband frequency conversion and spectral expansion.
